We have a very competent and experienced team who led the expansion at Derwent up to 2014; this team has moved over to set up Homes for Students in order to replicate this success. Our team are well respected in the market and we work with many agents, developers and investors, in order to facilitate the development of all our schemes.

We have excellent relationships with many universities nationally, which helps support all of the schemes we are involved with, developing and operating. Such an extensive network means that Homes for Students already have a pipeline of over 5,000 beds from new developments being hander over between 2016 and 2018.

Martin is an engineer by profession and has over 20 years’ experience in campus direct let market’s. He has considerable knowledge of and experience within the student accommodation sector and has built strong relationships focusing on delivering results for investors and working closely with universities on long term partnerships.

Sales & Marketing Director

Kate upholds strong values within her team and is a driven leader who has over 10 years multi-site sales management experience across both the student sector and retail for Virgin Holidays. As the Sales and Marketing Director, Kate works on producing sales and marketing strategies that ultimately exceed our occupancy and income targets nationally.

Operations Director

Graham’s commercial and operational expertise is embedded into the student portfolio. Responsible for implementing and safeguarding best practice for all operational activity. This relates to contract management, mobilisation and ensuring that effective processes are put into place to achieve maximum productivity.

James Tucknott

James Tucknott

Finance Director

James is responsible for the financial management and control of Homes for Students. He is involved in setting up the account systems, procedures and controls; along with producing and analysing the monthly reports. James oversees the production of company/site budgets and financial statement forecasting and field commercial audits, as well as student rent reporting to clients and the student arrears management process.

Commercial Director

Tony has a strong background in facilities management, mobilising contracts and technical engineering with over 30 years’ experience in this field. He is responsible for all commercial aspects of pricing and tendering including supply chain management.

Business Support Director

Mandy has worked in the facilities management and student sector for almost 20 years. Mandy is responsible for coordination and support services to directors including support business developments, operations activity and the monitoring of company accreditations and compliance.

Sales Manager

Laura has worked in the student sector for more than 6 years and brings with her a wealth of experience in managing sales processes on site and centrally. Laura focus is to drive our central sales team, ensuring that conversion is maximised as well as monitoring every sales opportunity at site is optimised, alongside this also ensuring that all business development opportunities are maximised to increase sales.

Marketing Manager

Hayley joins the business from The Manchester College, where her primary focus was to recruit students across 3 areas of the college; ALevels, Apprenticeships and Degrees. With over 5 years’ experience in marketing she has exceptional knowledge in dealing with our target demographic. Hayley is responsible for creating and delivering a robust marketing strategy and budget plan for each property; increasing lead generation and ultimately our sales performance as well as managing the marketing team centrally.

Management Accountant

Sandra has worked in Finance for over 20 years, with 3 years’ experience in the student sector she joins Homes for Students with a wealth of knowledge. Responsible for the controls and accuracy of financial reporting in the student booking system; control of the deposit process; the production of client rent reporting and providing support to non-finance staff throughout the organisation.

Stephen has spent over 10 years in many different areas in the property market, having managed one of the largest hospital accommodation sites in the UK; more recently managing a prestigious boarding school. Stephen is responsible for managing all sites across London, implementing best practice through strong leadership and ensuring properties meet sales, maintenance and student satisfaction targets.

With over 20 years’ experience in the industry Patricia has joined us from The Mansion Group, where she developed her region to delivering high performance sales, excellent customer service and phenomenal student experience. Patricia is responsible for implementing best practice through strong leadership and ensuring properties meet sales, maintenance and student satisfaction targets.

With over 20 years’ experience in driving regional teams to high levels of success in fast paced environments Rachel has a vast knowledge of the student accommodation sector. Rachel joins us from The Mansion Group where she managed 50% of their property portfolio. Rachel is responsible for implementing best practice through strong leadership and ensuring properties meet sales, maintenance and student satisfaction targets.
