Homes for Students (HFS) has partnered with the student money platform and app, Blackbullion, to offer thousands of students reduced accommodation costs through its housing scholarship and bursary programme.
This student housing pilot will provide financial support towards students’ rent, helping to ease some of the financial pressures associated with moving away for university.
After launching the partnership in June 2026, HFS has already had over 800+ applications for rooms offered at reduced rates to students for the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
By working alongside Blackbullion, HFS are helping students access financial support at a time when the rising cost of living continues to be a concern in the sector.

Applications can be made via the dedicated Blackbullion Funding Hub giving members access to financial support alongside the wider money management tools and financial education resources available through the platform. Blackbullion is also used every day by university teams to manage funding services for their students and signpost them to the range of financial support whilst studying.
Following on from the success of the initial pilot scheme, the team are now planning to expand this into additional housing services offered by Homes for Students throughout 2027 supporting students and universities across the UK.
