Homes for Students has added more than 2,500 new beds to its portfolio after Valeo USL Limited transferred Urban Student Life to the student accommodation operator.

The move opens up new markets for Homes for Students as they begin to manage properties in Dublin, Canterbury, Newcastle-under-Lyme and High Wycombe for the first time, as well as adding further beds in existing locations including Leeds, Coventry, Liverpool, Leicester, Nottingham and Sheffield.

Homes for Students Managing Director Martin Corbett adds, “The Urban Student Life brand will be retained by us for the fractional investor market where we can use the size of our platform to the benefit of individual investors by increasing sales and reducing expenditure and supply chain costs. Scale and market knowledge is becoming increasingly important as owner/operators aggregate and Homes for Students need to compete at this level and are well on the way to reach our target of 30,000 student beds under our various brands.”

John Kenny, Chief Executive Officer with Valeo Management Europe adds, “Homes for Students and Valeo share a commitment to excellence in the student accommodation market. This agreement will benefit students, investors and other stakeholders, enabling Valeo to focus on its strategy as owner-operator, investor and developer of accommodation through LIV Student, and Homes for Students to bring its expertise and resources to the Urban Student Life portfolio.”
