Purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA) provider Homes for Students (HFS) has won the Inclusion in Student Accommodation Award at this year’s Property Week Student Accommodation Awards.
Award winners were announced at a glamorous ceremony hosted by TV star Matt Lucas in the iconic Wembley Stadium in London on 4 December 2024.
Though the competition was stiff, the panel of judges were impressed HFS’s entry, which focused on the “Together is Better” (TIB) programme. TIB was created to cultivate a culture of inclusion, enabling colleagues and student residents to be their true authentic selves though championing its people, acknowledging that they are the business’s superpower.
Scott Lewis, Chief Operating Officer commented on the win:
“It’s fantastic to see the Together is Better programme recognised as a winner in the sector – it’s something we’re incredibly proud of.
“At Homes for Students, we don’t just talk about our values; we bring them to life, fostering the best environment for our teams, which naturally cascades down to benefit our residents. TIB, along with our other initiatives and industry partnerships really set HFS as the industry leader in promoting diversity and inclusion in student accommodation.”
HFS was also shortlisted for two other awards on the night in the Innovation Award and Operator of the Year categories.
HFS will continue to build on its good work through its partnerships with the likes of Student Minds, Inclusive Employers, Safe Space Alliance and The Girls’ Network who help us continue to help to foster positive change.
The Property Week Student Accommodation Awards is dedicated to celebrating excellence in the student housing sector. The event brings together operators, investors, developers, universities, and thought leaders to recognise achievements across various categories.
